Registration and the draft

Peacemaking is a way of life, not just a quick decision when you don't want the military to take a couple years away from you or if you are frightened of going to a war zone. In our case, it is a lifelong yearning to say YES! to Jesus, who commanded us to love our enemies (Matthew 5:44), no matter how difficult or ridiculous that seems. Women and men both can live as peacemakers now and should both prepare for a possible draft. Learning how to respond to Jesus' call to love enemies will take us a lifetime and affect many of our choices.
