In the days after September 11, 2001, the peace dimension of our mission became both increasingly difficult and acutely urgent. By April 2003, the spirits of war and domination appeared almost unstoppable in their conquest of humanity. The largest peace movement the world had ever known had failed to stop the "shock and awe" invasion of Iraq.
